Count Down to the 2010 Kandy Cane Castle Holiday Boutique!

The holidays are just around the corner and they're brimming with treasured traditions. And, one of the East Valley's favorite and most time-honored traditions is the Annual Kandy Kane Castle Holiday Boutique. This year, the boutique is proud to celebrate its 20th year of providing quality, handmade products to thousands of visitors over two weekends in November.

Kandy Kane Castle Boutique was started in the Groves area in Mesa, AZ in 1991 by Betty Bendure – principal of Highland Elementary School from 1989-1996, her business partner Beverley Cooper – another Mesa elementary school principal, and eight "crafty" teachers. This year, the boutique will boast over 60 talented vendors who will provide a wide range of skillfully handcrafted items. Seasonal merchandise – wreaths and garlands, clothing, ornaments, and toys – are in abundance. Home décor, fashion accessories, kitchen linens, baby items, and lots of jewelry are just a few of the many products available. And, definitely, not to be forgotten are the incredible foods – the best tamales in Mesa, a variety of salsas, fresh cinnamon rolls, jellies, canned fruits and vegetables, cakes, cookies and much, much more.

Beautiful crafts, delicious food products, reasonable prices, and a fun and friendly atmosphere are Kandy Kane Castle's hallmark -- and understandably, a big draw for shoppers old and new. You won't want to miss this delightful holiday tradition!

WHERE: Kandy Kane Castle Holiday Boutique is located at 3039 E. Backus Road (2 blocks south of McKellips, east off Lindsay).

WHEN: This year’s dates for the annual boutique are November 11-13 and 18-20. Hours are 10 a.m. to 5 p.m., daily.

2009 – Our Biggest Year Yet!

Well, 2009 proved to be our best boutique yet! Fun and festiveness filled the air for our 19th year, and our event was punctuated by perfectly gorgeous weather. We had more vendors than ever – over 50, who shared their wonderful talents and crafts with us. Merchandise included tried and true favorites as well as new and exciting items. Old friends who have been shopping with us since day one, and new friends alike, pushed our visitor count to over 3,000.

As usual, our food items were a huge hit – from our delectable, fresh-out-of-the-oven cinnamon rolls to our delicious, better-grab-em-before-they're-gone tamales. This year also saw the biggest variety of cookies and other sweets – and Indian fry bread made-to-order every day.

The announcement and anticipation of our online store – Kandy Kane Castle Year Round, added to this year's excitement. And we heard compliments galore, many about the boutique's high level of camaraderie – crafter-to-crafter, crafter-to-shopper and even shopper-to-shopper. Our sincerest thanks go out to all for an incredibly successful year!

Famously, Fantastic Foods

Each morning, when you enter the boutique, you're greeted with the smell of these incredible, mouth-watering, fresh-out-of-the-oven cinnamon rolls. And, sometimes, you're also met with disappointment -- when you find out that 30 minutes after the boutique opened, all the cinnamon rolls sold out. They go fast. Really fast. Just like a lot of our other fantastic food items. Here are a few more of our famous boutique favorites...
